Professor Michael

Professor Michael started his jiu jitsu career in early 2010 at Gracie Arizona. Quickly realizing that he had found something he was truly passionate about he continued to study and train hard for the next 3 years. After earning his purple belt in 2013 Prof. Michael began teaching classes at his home Dojo. In 2015 he won IBJJF Pans in his division and was promoted to Brown Belt on the Podium. After a very successful run at Purple belt Prof. Kaplan decided to double down on his commitment to his jiu jitsu career and competed & taught classes full time as a Brown Belt. His hard work paid off with a long list of accomplishments at Brown Belt including winning Gold the Ibjjf Nationals, IBJJF New York Open, IBJJF LA Open, IBJJF San Fransisco Open. As well as winning Gold at 2 Azbjjf tournaments and racking up 2-0 record with the Fight2Win Submission only promotion.

Professor Michael was promoted to Black Belt April 27 2018 and continues to train hard and compete regularly.In June 2019 He relocated to Prescott AZ. After spending a few months training and getting to know the other Black Belt he began helping teach classes and quickly became an integral part of the community.
